The Path to a Digitalized School

Following the COVID-19 pandemic, the need for a digitalized school has grown, and in recent years we have seen more and more schools in Sweden using digital aids in their teaching.

The Path to a Digitalized School

What are digital aids?

Digital aids are, in short, all the digital material used in teaching. Digital aids can be divided into three categories:

  • Digital content – Educational games, entertaining games, films, podcasts, websites or articles linked to teaching.
  • Digital learning resources – Resources designed for teaching that cover larger areas of knowledge or entire subjects.
  • Digital tools – Computers, tablets, learning platforms, digital devices, software and digital measurement tools.

How has digitalization affected schools?

The aim is to improve the quality of teaching. Principals, school heads and education providers are responsible for overseeing digital changes. Digitalization creates new pedagogical opportunities, but also challenges through changing working methods, learning resources and student assignments.
